Finally! I am able to sit down and changed the look of my other blog. It's been driving me nuts. I was meaning to change the look of my blogs for quite sometime now but I just did not have the time or the enthusiasm. I was browsing my computer today and actually was able to get the inspiration I need to get me started. Anyways, check out LANE OF MEMORIES if you have time and tell me what you think>.<

Acne Medications Reviewed
Saturday, September 27, 2008
Acne can be more than just a teenage problem, sometimes extending into later years. Choosing a suitable medication can be difficult, with many different products available. So, it makes sense when you have an acne problem, or a member of your family has an acne problem, to go to a review website and get some background information on the various acne treatments before trying one. Also bear in mind that different products can have different results for different individuals, probably based on skin type, so try a small pack first to see how you get on with it.

Frosty
Friday, September 26, 2008
Fall is definitely here. Leaves are starting to change and a frost on my car is what greets me in the morning. Yesterday was actually a lot cooler than this morning. Some of plants are now gone because of the frost. Time to get those sweaters and long-sleeved shirts from behind the closet now. I love the colours of the fall season though and although it is sad to think that in a few weeks time, leaves will off the trees, it is still one of my favourite season, not too cold and not too hot.

Recipes Online Save Experimentation!
Sometimes I like to surprise Hubby with a meal that I have never cooked before. Unfortunately, he has very boring tastes in food, maybe because of coming from England, where the main meal is 'meat and 2 veg.' So, anyway, I like to try new things from time to time, and one way to cut down on the losses (ruined food!) is to use a tried and true recipe such as the one for cornbread dressing at find.myrecipes.com. They have other good stuff there too.

Indoor Exercise
With winter looming, getting exercise becomes more difficult on those days where the ground conditions are slippery, or it is just too cold to want the freezing air hitting your lungs. This is why exercise machines are so popular. It started with simple treadmills, but the design of this type of equipment has vastly improved over the years. Having said that, the same basic idea is there for many of the designs - to allow you to walk indoors. But these days you can do it more safely, and with more muscles involved than in the past, due to the features of modern exercise equipment

Frost This Week
So, this week we had the change in weather where the frost covers everything in the mornings, and I have to warm up the car to get the windows clear before driving off. But it really is a great time of the year in other ways. Not too many bugs, not too hot to get some serious work done - even Hubby is inspired! The only part that I don't like is the promise of winter that is in the air.

Another important matter..
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
It is very important to me to have a good pair of shoes. I must've tons of shoes in my house, but there is only a couple or three that I would wear all the time. MBT shoes are called the 'anti-shoe'! and for a good reason. They are REALLY comfortable, in fact, they feel just like when I was a kid and went barefoot a lot, so my feet got hardened to the walking around. With MBT shoes I get the same feeling, except it is more comfortable if I accidentally step on a sharp stone! With the job I got, you gotta have the perfect shoes!

An eye opener
Monday, September 22, 2008

When dad had the stroke last month, it became an eye-opener to him. I guess he realized at that moment that he could be gone anytime. He was just so lucky that he got looked at very quickly and that the blockage he got wasn't that severe. Still, it is a scary thing to have.
Although we now at some point that we are in severe trouble with our health, we still couldn't(or maybe refused to) accept to the fact that anything could happen to us. I mean, we saw things like this happening to other people, but at some level, we never thought this could happen to us. In any case, my dad's episode made him realized that any day is his last day and so he is a little scared now and had stopped smoking, watching his diet, and his sugar level. Will this help him? or is this too late now?...I am not sure...the only thing I am sure of, is that he is a different person now...

Diet Pills Reviewed - Worst Pills Listed!
Wednesday, September 17, 2008
Diet pills come in many forms, but the methods in how they work are often the same, in that they might reduce appetite, or possibly change metabolic rate, the system that controls how fast your body deals with food intake. At dietpillsdietpills.com they review the various pills, and list the best pills, and also the worst pills! So, from the consumers point of view, they would appear to have a fair critique of the diet pills reviewed.

My weekend
Sunday, September 14, 2008
Another weekend is about to be over. It's about 11pm and it's almost time to go to bed. What did I do this weekend? Well, I did a lot of work around the house. Well, not really a lot, but just enough for me to feel like I had done something productive this weekend. Well, apart from cleaning up the house, I had 'scanned' my things here to what I could throw out at the end of the month. They are going to collect large items that you don't normally put out for regular garbage days such as beds, fridge and stuff like that. We have an old microwave and bikes I am dying to put outside by the curve. Hopefully, hubby will not opposed on throwing away stuff this time, especially that we are trying to move to the city.

The Route
Having a router is more than just something you need when running more than a single computer on the internet. The router acts as a firewall, and hides the computers that are behind it, so that hacking becomes harder. If using a wireless network, you should also protect yourself by having a password for access, although the main issue is actually just other local people accessing the internet through your connection, rather than a security problem for your own computer. Right now buy.com have good deals on the popular Linksys router.

The Airshow Helps With Keys
Tuesday, September 09, 2008
The airshow that I mentioned below has helped with a problem I had last week. I kept losing keys. Not really losing them, just locking them where I couldn't get them. Anyway, those military dudes had a booth, and were handing out goodies as a promotion for recruiting, and one of the items was a thing you put your ID tag on to hang it around your neck. Now, I also picked up a keyring that is like one of those mountain climbing snapon rings that they clip onto rope, only smaller, so, I add the two together, and yippee, I have a key that I can't put down, but can use while it is still around my neck. Am I cool, or what.

The look...
Monday, September 08, 2008

Little sis was cool enough to get her face painted with military make-up at the airshow. She was the only "cool" among our group there. She had fun posing with her made-up face. We took a load of photos of her with us and some goofy people there. It was indeed a good day:)

Pollen Season
This year Hubby has been left in charge of the gardening more than in the past, so we have a nice flower bed system of weeds, including Goldenrod. What with the midday heat making it better to have windows open, as this time of the year it is possible to open up the house instead of using the air conditioner, the entry of pollen gets easier. I sneeze, Hubby sneezes, and even when we shut the windows, on a windy day the pollen is already inside the house. So, time to look at buying something in the way of a filter, such as the IQAir, as air quality is no longer a luxury, and even after the pollen season is over, the filter will still improve the environment inside the house.

Airshow 08
Had a blast on the weekend with my family and some goofy friends. We went and see the airshow! I have seen this show before, but it was mainly to take and show my parents who just arrived last year. This doesn't happened a lot so I was glad I took them there. My mom, especially, was glad she seen it. She said, he had reached her age, and never seen anything like this, she was a little emotional. I am just happy she had a great time:)

Being aware
Trading in futures can be rewarding even in a market that is in general decline. The way that profits can be made or maintained is by having good knowledge of the particular market sector, and whether it is likely to climb, even slightly, or decline. With yesterday's announcement regarding the US governmental support for the mortgage industry in the US, some markets have
today taken a climb. Having a reliable futures broker is a good start in ensuring that you are well positioned in today's volatile markets, and transworldfutures.com can give you the information as well as support needed to ensure a better chance of long term success.

Contract Proposal
I have received these kind of emails for awhile, they were gone for a bit and now they are back again! I am not sure if most you guys received this kind of email too...anyways, here's the email, is it believable?:

The XXXXXX economy has witnessed a steady growth since the end of Apartheid. Within the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources where I worked as director of Auditing and Project Implementation, Mining and Quarrying alone contributes 12.3% GDP (R25.9Billion), Gold made up R19.9Billion of the yearly export while Base metals and other mineral products contribute R6.7Billion and R5.0Billion respectively. This figure excludes Diamond, which is quoted separately.

The Government has continuously strived to improve and maintain good relationship with foreign governments and Non-Governmental financial agencies by ensuring payments for all debts owed to foreign contractors. As a matter of fact, the Government has sponsored several trade delegations overseas to improve and attract foreign investments to XXXXXXX.

I write, asking for your indulgence in re-profiling funds to tune of Twenty Five Million, Eight Hundred Thousand United States Dollars (US$25.8m) which we want to keep safely overseas under your supervision. In other words, we would like you to receive the said funds on our behalf. The Funds were derived over time from a project awarded to a foreign firm by my Department, and presently the actual contract cost have been paid to the original project executors, leaving the balance in the tune of the said amount which we have in principle obtained approval to remit overseas.

Currently, I work as a Director of Projects at The Department of Minerals & Energy here in XXXX. I have the authority and approval of my partners involved in this transaction to negotiate a suitable compensation for your participation and I propose 22.2 percent, while we also propose that we receive 46.6 percent and 31.2 percent be earmarked for purposes of taxation.

This endeavor has a minimal risk factor on your part provided you treat it with the utmost discretion. You are advised to reach me through email for further clarification.

I await in anticipation your fullest co-operation.

Best regards,

Engr.xxxxxxx

Downloadable Audio Books
Tuesday, September 02, 2008
I know that it must be really restrictive to go blind, especially if you have had good eyesight for a long part of your life, but at the same time it is interesting to note that since the electronic age, disabilities have come to have less impact.
For many years now, there have been talking books, which have consisted of tape cassettes, and lately of course, technology has allowed the use of downloadable audio books to educate as well as entertain.

Hubby Is Really Annoying!
Monday, September 01, 2008
I can understand why, but my Hubby is really annoying. I have left my car keys, in fact, all my keys, down at my Mom's place, and when I went to use the Jeep this morning he wouldn't let me just take his keys, he took the single Jeep key off his key-ring, and gave me that.
I wanted the remote door opener, but he pointed out that once I got to my Mom's place this morning, I can use my own one.
He doesn't trust me with keys any more! Twice in the last week I have lost keys, either by leaving them at Mom's, or by locking them into the car!

Stopping Annoying Phone Calls
What a great idea Annoyingcallers.com is! It basically lists the numbers of the idiots who harrass you by phone. The idea, I guess, is to build up a database of the abusers of the system, which in fact, is probably well regulated in your locality, it is just that these people are blatantly ignoring the law, and their bosses want that, but pretend not to, so it is the agent doing the calling who gets into trouble once caught.
You can normally tell if it is an unwanted call, as quite often the I.D. on the phone display will be blocked.
Most phone companies will co-operate in tracing who it is, especially if you threaten to change carriers if they don't assist, but try being nice and polite first.
Local governments generally have jurisdiction and laws governing abusive phone use.
My hubby once had an issue with someone calling for a person who did not live with us, but they would not believe that. The calls went on and on, and finally the caller got abusive. My Hubby tracked down the calling company which was a collection agency, traced the name of the CEO of the holding company, who was a University high-up, well respected. Hubby told him in no uncertain terms what his company was up to, and that he might think that he is a pillar of society, but he is being made a fool of by those at the call center he owns.
The calls ceased.
But now that we have AnnoyingCallers.com to help, things are easier than they were a few years ago
