Pouring cats and dogs.
Tuesday, October 27, 2009
I don't know if it is just me, but it seems like we are getting more of those monsoon type downpours these days. Probably they will blame global warming. Years ago, they used to blame the atom bomb. I expect that before that they blamed witches, or things like that. But, having said that, it is probably true that it is connected with the warming of things. Oh, well, nothing we can do now except our best.

Convenient - to a Degree!
Monday, October 26, 2009
Getting further education is always a good thing. It takes money, and it takes time. Apart from that, there are generally scheduling conflicts, especially if you try to combine work with learning. The way around this is to go the online route. Now, just be careful here that it is an accredited online degree that you are studying for. No point in spending the money, taking the time and effort even at home, if the end result is not what you need to move further ahead in life.

Clear Water in the Local Harbor.
Sunday, October 25, 2009
A great deal of fuss has been made locally where I live about the new waste-water treatment plant. The thing was built at great expense, and then suddenly failed. Not a good thing to have failing, especially if, as I think might be the case, the pipes have all been transferred over to the new plant, thus eliminating the old plant from the possibility of taking over again while the new one is fixed. Having said that, it can't be really bad, there is no smell that I can detect, and the water looks crystal clear. Dunno if I would like to eat the fish from there though!

For Family Home, or Only Bachelor Pad?
Tuesday, October 20, 2009
We all tend to think of furniture as being probably made of wood, and something that stands on the floor in a room, and is used to store things in, or to sit on. Now, I have often thought when in a business building, or a store, how some of the more masculine style office items might look good in a family home. The same plasma mounts that are used to allow the showing of Powerpoint presentations can be used also for displaying my favorite TV show. Black steel can be an attractive addition to decor, and matches in with many other color schemes. But, especially for the bachelor pad, this is the way to go. Keep the video games and computer equipment as well as audio and TV items all in nice surroundings.

My Sony Vaio Laptop
Sunday, October 18, 2009
I have a Sony Vaio laptop. Or are they all called 'notebooks' these days? Anyway, I got it about 18 months ago, and although at first I didn't like the Vista operating system on it, I have to admit that it has been probably more reliable than the previous experience I have had with the XP operating system.
Anyway, I always thought that the Vaio was just one model, but it turns out that there are many different versions. I would not hesitate to buy another one.

House Or Office - which do I renovate first!
Friday, October 16, 2009
I have a small office in the house, and I have some good things there, but others that are just basic, like for instance a couple of old wooden chairs. Now, even bearing in mind that my business is generally conducted at the clients premises, I still have the problem that when I go into my office to get my paperwork updated, I am still faced with what appears to be something more appropriate for a kitchen, as opposed to it being real office furniture. So it is not really a case of it being for other people, it is about my own comfort with my surroundings while I work.

Exercise While Watching TV! - What next?
Thursday, October 15, 2009
I just saw something that must be as decadent as strawberries and cream coated with chocolate. I mean, we all know that treadmills are great for exercise, and we know that watching TV makes you a couch potato, but now I see that it is possible to actually buy a treadmill that allows you to watch TV while standing up and walking to get exercise! This is not actually as silly as it seems, after all, you are less likely to want to take some exercise if while doing so you are missing your favorite program. In fact, seeing as my Hubby is so keen on TV, maybe I ought to get rid of the TV that we have, and make it so that the only one in the house is the one that is built into a treadmill.

Snow in the Forecast!
Wednesday, October 14, 2009
I just took a look at the forecast for today, and it was for a possibility of snow mixed with rain ending this morning. I took a look out of the window, and I can see bright sunshine. So, I guess that it has already passed by. Good job, too. Now, I have to get my van geared up with a plastic snow shovel, and some bags of sand, ready for when the ice hits. It would be nice to be like the rich people in Europe in the old days, and just move to a summer home somewhere where it is warmer.

An Indoor Exercise Idea
Thursday, October 08, 2009
As I mentioned in my last post, I am trying to lose some weight. Anyway, it suddenly occurred to me that I need a way to get exercise while still indoors, now that winter is firmly on the way. I took a look at those exercise machines, but I am not really an exercise person, I don't even know what a 'glute' is! So, I took a look at ping pong tables as a good way to go. Not a dramatic form of exercise, but it is a way I can just mildly exercise while having fun. I am thinking that I can position the table against a wall, that way I can play alone.

Dieting Again
Monday, October 05, 2009
I am still quite determined to get into good shape ready for this Christmas. After all, by starting this early, I have a good chance of taking the weight off slowly, and I have heard that by doing that, it will be easier to keep it off. I went for several walks these past few days, so that will help as far as exercise goes, and I will need to take a look for some suitable diet pills to add to the effect. Oh, and I have reduced the size of my food portions!

Raining all day
Sunday, October 04, 2009
I went out for a walk today with Hubby.
It sounded like a good idea, although it was raining a little. Anyway, we went to a store, bought a few small items, and then as we left, the heavens opened and stayed open. Hubby then tells me that he had read the forecast as having a 'rainfall warning', whatever that is. Actually, I can guess at what it is, just not how wet we got while out in it!
