Great Views From The Window
Monday, November 29, 2010
Looking out of the window right now, I can see over the top of an apartment block, and then see the Halifax harbour where the world war 2 convoys used to assemble. They say that the bottom is littered with wartime debris, including unexploded munitions, but I think also that I read somewhere that there has been a cleanup soon after the war, to make sure nothing live was still down there.
Makes a great view, and even better when a container ship goes by. They maneuver around here, in order to dock at the port terminal that is out of my range of view. They even rotate right around to face the other way, before docking. Anyway, makes life interesting.

Stress connected with Hair Loss?
Sunday, November 28, 2010
There are different opinions as to whether stress can be a cause of hair loss. Certainly some hair loss situations are obviously hereditary. I say obvious because if you put a father and son side by side, you often see the same receding hairline! Now, you can click here for further information straight from a website where there is information, as well as reviews and comparisons of various products.

Still RV weather? - sure!
Tuesday, November 23, 2010
As we head towards winter, it is easy to forget that just a few hours down the road, there is weather that is warmer, just as by heading north, we can find colder weather if we wish.
So, it really is not too late in the year to consider RV travel. Although at first this might sound crazy, consider people who have seasonal summer jobs or businesses. If it was the height of summer, they might go camping. But this time of the year, RV'ing offers more, and there is still the security of knowing that rv towing is always available in case of breakdowns.

Binoculars - seeing in poor light is easy.
Sunday, November 21, 2010
There is more to telescopes and binoculars than I thought. I was always under the impression that they just make things larger when you look at them. But there is actually a better use. Well, I say better, I should say another.
Fist, the binocular advantage is that, by having two eyes involved, you are able to judge distances, just the same as with having 2 eyes.
But the main thing I have noticed is that in poor light, and especially with a pair of binoculars with large lenses on the end, they make vision in poor light so much better. The reason for this is that the eye only has a certain area to accept light, and the images of what the light carries. But when you look at the lenses of binoculars, they are far larger than a human eye. So, the light comes in, and as it goes through the binoculars, it is kind of compressed into a size small enough to fit into the human eye. But it has the amount of light that the large lens has taken in. Neat, huh?

Working Late Hours
Wednesday, November 17, 2010
Seems that I might be tending to put work off all day, and then finally get forced to go out and get the work done. Although freedom of time is a blessing that comes with running your own business, it can also be a disadvantage, allowing more procrastination.
Fortunately, Hubby is helping me right now. And I don't have to pay him a lot. In fact, I don't even have to pay him at all! But I give him a bit, his needs are small, as he says, he just needs a little cash to buy materials for fixing up his boat, and gas to get to it.
So, when I feel lazy, in he steps and we get the jobs done before dawn breaks!

Eczema Treatment
Tuesday, November 16, 2010
Often eczema is a childhood thing, but it can also affect adults. The need to scratch the itch can cause it to be a long process to cure. and the underlying wetness of that type of skin erosion also makes the injured tissue slower to heal, I am pretty sure. In healing, it will tend to dry out OK, but the actual damaged area is not like a regular wound, it has not, when just dried, rebuilt the actual lost skin. There is more information regarding eczema at such websites as www.eczematreatments.org.

Body Acne
Monday, November 15, 2010
Body acne can be a little more troublesome than the regular face acne type. Clothes can rub and irritate, and can even open up the acne. Then of course there is the potential for scarring in places such as shoulders, where the effect can be easily seen.
I have a suspicion that any treatment for parts of the body that are specific, might well be formulated to suit the location. Take for instance body acne treatment. Although there are body areas that are more sensitive than the face, most body areas are well able to withstand stronger treatments than the face area can. If I am correct, then it might well be that by using a face treatment on other areas, you are under-treating the condition.

Short Term Loans Give Opportunity
Sunday, November 14, 2010
I was looking through some advertising from private individuals, and it seems significant that when an ad appears on a Monday, for example, the price seems lower than when the ad appears at the weekend. I think I might have it figured. When an ad is placed on a Friday, the advertiser has money in their pocket, as it is just about payday time. Now, on a Monday, they might have spent too much over he weekend, and are trying to get cash to survive.
This is a situation where you can get a payday advance loan, and make money on it, or at least make savings that will be the same as making money. Although the interest rate on shorter term loans tends to be on the high side, the alternative might well cost more. This applies even more if the item you are buying is several hundred dollars. Well worth looking at. Just be careful, do your math, and be sure that the item that you are buying is really the bargain you think it is.

The Real Cost Of A Vehicle.
Friday, November 12, 2010
Here is some food for thought.
Say you earn about 1200 bucks a month, like a low income type job, and you run a vehicle because you have to to get to work due to strange shifts or whatever, and say you pay $300 in payments, and maybe another $150 for insurance, then there is say $120 a year for licencing fee, making it $10 a month, and say about ten a month for parking, then the total is $470, or nearly 5/12ths of your income. So, if you work about 160 hrs a month, then you are working over 60 hours just to get to the work. And that is without fuel and tires, exhaust repairs, oil changes, whatever.
Makes you think, doesn't it?

Belly Fat
Wednesday, November 10, 2010
We really are a nation of fat bellies. It is a combination of modern lifestyle, coupled with type of food eaten, and when we add age to that, it makes it almost inevitable that we will get an increase in belly fat. But, help might be on the way - there is even a website where the subject is how to lose belly fat fast! So, there is hope yet. A good system of exercise, a good diet, and maybe some pills to adjust the fat burning metabolism or the appetite, and there we go.

Water Retention
Monday, November 08, 2010
Obviously, the human body is wet in nature. Not only with blood, but also other fluids. And each type of fluid is, for the most part, going to normally stay in the place where it is supposed to be. Now, that is all assuming that things are as they should be. But, like with most things medical, it only take a little imbalance, and the effects can be much larger than the cause. I believe that this is because the body is set up to protect itself, and when one system goes wrong, this is reacted to by the other systems.
As far as fluids go, the body can sometimes retain more water than it needs in order to be healthy. Fortunately, there are various water retemtion remedies that can be used to reverse the effect.

Hubby used to smoke cigarettes
Sunday, November 07, 2010
My Hubby used to smoke cigarettes, and he once tried changing over to cigars just for a change, and I think to try to smoke fewer cigarettes. But the two are really quite different, as is the same with a pipe smoker. The tobacco is different in all three, the most common being the cigarette, of course. But take a good cigar such as cohiba cigars, and the whole thing changes. There is a something about the smell of cigars that is really attractive, and well-off somehow. It might just be that they get smoked by people who are from higher social levels, or might just be better because the fragrance is more unique.

Comparing Car Insurance
Friday, November 05, 2010
There is more to car insurance than just getting cheap car insurance, as there are such things as what happens if you have an accident. Most insurance companies will immediately up your premium to gain their money back. Some though, will not, and will wait until maybe there is a second claim within a specified period.
By going online to look at car insurance, it is possible to get quotes in a fast manner, rather than endless phoning and waiting for returned calls.

Vehicles - buy in the Fall, or wait until Spring?
Wednesday, November 03, 2010
I have to admit to being a bit fed up with my van. It has been reliable, but it really is a bit big for what I need, and has weird faults that seem to occur to all General Motors products.
When it is wet, I get warnings on the dashboard that the tire pressures are uneven, and that the traction control needs servicing, and that the ABS braking system needs servicing. Then when the weather dries out, the warnings go away.
So, I might consider getting new vehicle very soon.

Formal Wear
Monday, November 01, 2010
I have to admit that I prefer casual wear to formal wear. My sister, on the other hand, just loves dressing up for occasions. It is probably because of the end result she gets, as she does tend to look good in more formal clothing.
And it is not just special occasion dresses that look good on her, it has often annoyed me that she even looks good in more casual clothes. And that is a case of lifestyle, too. In her job at an office, she can choose to dress a little formally, in fact, she actually is forced to.
But with my job, I just go there at weird hours, and make sure things are done.
