Thunder and Lightning
Saturday, June 18, 2011
I almost titled this post 'thunder and lightening', which would mean that something was weighing less somehow.
We seem to be getting a lot of thunderstorms in the past few days. I think that this might actually be good, as there tend to be more thunderstorms in warm weather than in cooler weather, so maybe it is a sign that the summer, which we should be well into by now, is finally about to arrive.
Once the thunder and lightning stop, that is!

To Brace or Not To Brace?
Tuesday, June 14, 2011
My Hubby often has a back back.
He first injured it years ago, by over-reaching, and pulling the vertebrae apart. This led to agony within a few hours. Even since, he has had a tendency to get re-injured. He cannot even demonstrate how he did the first injury, for fear of doing it again.
A back brace is essential for him, as it can be used immediately he is aware of the possibility that he has 'done it again'.
He must be a fragile little baby, because he doesn't work his body very hard, in fact maybe that is the cause of all this, but he does suffer strains and sprains a reasonable amount of times. Particularly to his knees and ankles, when he twists around and puts pressure on them, in the same manner that football players do.
Years ago, all there was to help was a crepe bandage, which gave little actual mechanical support, but nowadays there are exoskeleton type braces complete with hinges, and these are probably the best ankle brace for football players, as well as being great for less strenuous people like my Hubby! He figures that these braces cut down his recovery time by about 5 days, so they are well worthwhile.

A Good Source
Wednesday, June 08, 2011
The Source is a retail electronics store that has a great online page that is almost better than visiting a branch of the store. After all, a personal visit is not searchable!
Also, you get the opportunity to quickly see the best deals, such as the ones that are currently available for hp laserjet ink cartridges.
But it is also handy for hobby electronics, as well.
Hubby is often fiddling with stuff, and buys what I think are weird items there, such as coils of enameled wire. Maybe it is Hubby who is weird, not what he buys!

Car Trouble - but only for Hubby
Monday, June 06, 2011
Hubby has an older car. It is OK, as far as it goes, but right now, it is driving him nuts.
The speedometer keeps stopping working, and this is random.
When he switches on the lights, that triggers the fault.
When he goes into a lower gear on the automatic transmission to climb up a hill better, it occurs, too.
Then it will stay bad until it randomly decides to repair itself!
Crazy, Eh?

RV fun this summer?
Friday, June 03, 2011
One of the great things about the RV lifestyle is the freedom.
And these days, the fuel mileage is far better than it used to be a few years ago, with the modern diesel technology being used in most of the larger as well as mid-sized RV, and sometimes even the smaller models.
And, with specialized insurance available online, you can easily obtain an rv insurance quote that suits your specific needs.
Depending upon your locale, or the area you intend to go to, there are good rates available.

Renovating the House
Wednesday, June 01, 2011
I have held off with spending on the house for quite a few years now.
Unfortunately, it is beginning to show.
Peeling paint is only the start.
The windows are old, and have poor insulative properties.
By just changing all the windows I can probably recoup the expense within 2 years, in the savings of heat in winter.
So, Hubby seems to be set on getting started.
He also has told me that there is some rotting planks up behind one of the rain gutters.
One thing leads to another, and if we are not careful, the hornets will start building their nests in there!

Two meanings for wholesale.
There are two meanings for wholesale, maybe more.
One is the buying of many items in order to resell them at retail prices, and the other one just means to gather in all aspects of something, such as if a public project is not a seen as good, it can be said to be a wholesale mess.
In the case of Wholesale Insurance online, though, it is neither.
It is about reviewing and comparing prices from different insurers, and going from there as far as your selection goes.
I am guessing that by having larger volumes of business because of their online presence, they are able to offer better prices.
