Hypnotism - fact or fiction.
Monday, July 11, 2011
Hypnotism is a feature of many stories that are fiction, and there is a particular setup that is presented, and this is one of an object swinging in front of the subject, such as a watch on a chain.
The subject is then typically sent into a kind of sleep by this, which happens all within a few minutes.
The reality is far different.
It can take extremely long periods to get subjects hypnotised, and I am sure that there are those who cannot come under the hypnotic spell.
Having said that, hypnotism is real, it does work, it can be used for good or for bad, but it is generally done without a swinging watch to be seen!

Trade show equipment
Sunday, July 10, 2011
Setting up for a trade show can mean a lot of expense in getting a booth type environment made. The finish has to be clean and crisp, as if it is not so, then the product being presented will be compromised.
Trade show display units can be purchased for less than the cost of specialized manufacture.
The layout and colors are set up as part of a design to aid presentation.
And the professionalism adds credibility to the product or service being offered.
Way to go!

Paternity - a sure thing
Friday, July 08, 2011
It was only a few years ago that we had to accept either what we were told, or what seemed obvious, as far as our blood parents were. It was possible to hide the fact that a child might be adopted, or the father might be a public figure who needed to hide his activities.
But now we can get tests done to prove paternity.
And that is a good thing, it prevents things being hidden, and allows those who are involved full freedom.

Arranging a brotherly vacation.
Tuesday, July 05, 2011
I am trying to get my brothers who live in the Philippines, over for a visit.
My mother is getting old now, and her health is not getting better - I think that her days of leaping around might be over, to say the least!
And the doctors do not recommend that she flies on an airplane, so I guess that it is a case of if Mohamed cannot go to the mountain, then the mountain must come to Mohamed, or whatever that saying is. Hmmm, must look that one up!

Metal Detecting - a profitable hobby
Sunday, July 03, 2011
I was asking Hubby about the metal detectors sale I saw recently in a flyer. I just could not imagine what use one of these electronic machines could be. But, he has actual experience, as he used to work with a guy who spent each weekend out and about, using his metal detector to find old coins and jewelry, as well as other less valuable, but still interesting items.
When you think about it, it does make sense.
Wherever there are people, there are people losing things.
Then, apparently, the earth worms do the rest, by moving earth up above any dropped item, over time, and thus burying it.
Could be a fun hobby.

Burning the fat
Saturday, July 02, 2011
There is lots of hype from the various sources of such discussions, about the efficiency of dieting methods, such as appetite suppressants, and fat burners. Both of course have their particular merits, but I suspect that it is fat burners that work the best.
My thinking is that by suppressing an appetite, you are also suppressing the nutritional side of the food intake.
By metabolism adjustment, the fat burners probably are better, at least in my mind.

Invitations for events.
Friday, July 01, 2011
There are a couple of writing tasks that get a bit boring, to say the least. Actually, tiresome might be a better word. One is writing out bank checks ahead of time, such as for a full year, month by month, in the case of, say, renting a property. The other is writing out invitations. I tend to feel a compulsion to make each one special, but at the same time different, in case the invitees discuss it between themselves!
But with invitationbox.com wedding shower invitations, for instance, the work is already done, it is apparent by the invitation itself that the recipient is special to you, and this is all done for you. Or me. Neat, huh?
