Fish Tanks - Relaxing, or Annoying?
Wednesday, October 19, 2011
I have always considered tropical fish tanks to be a relaxing item to look at.
Until now.
I made the mistake of getting some little fish called Guppies. And they give birth to live young.
This differs from fish like, say, trout, where the eggs are laid, then the male fish comes along and deposits his share of the event over the eggs, thus fertilising them.
With Guppies, there is a continual chasing and, I suppose, the fish equivalent of raping going on.
I really is not relaxing at all.

Hormones and Feeling Well.
Tuesday, October 18, 2011
Years ago, hormones were not really known, and recent research, and even some not so recent research has proven to be valuable in finding out the effects that hormones have upon the human body.
One of the reasons why Bioidentical Hormone Replacement is so important is that although hormones are essential parts of life, they are not always advantageous in the way that they affect us.
It is not just a female thing, either. Men too have hormone variations through various stages of life.
The natural side effects of natural hormonal changes can be modified, often by slowing down the rate at which the changes occur, as we transition from one stage of life to the next.

Mouthwatering Goodies
Thursday, October 13, 2011
This will make you mouth water, I just know that it will.
It is one thing to think of strawberries, and another to think of chocolate, not to mention caramel, but would you believe that it is actually possible to place an order online and get candy apple delivery right to your home?
Not just any candy apples, either, but gourmet candy apples.
If you don't know the difference between what is regular, and what is gourmet, then the thing to do is to try it.
It is like the experience of fine dining, only applied to luxury sweets, instead of meat and vegetables.

I was wrong about lawn mowing.
Monday, October 03, 2011
We are in the middle of a rainy spell right now. This can be good, because I have an excuse for not mowing the lawn.
The not so good part is that once the rain stops, if the temperature rises enough, the grass starts growing again, even this late in the fall.
But I am still hopeful that the next mowing will be the last mowing before winter.
We will see.

Tire Chain Weather Is On The Way
Saturday, October 01, 2011
No doubt that despite climate change, we will get enough snow this coming winter to justify using studded tires, or even snow chains in the case of larger vehicles.
Studded tires are great on ice, but not so good in snow.
And of course, tire chains are a really heavy duty way to get traction. It is almost worth carrying a set, even if you normally never use them, just for emergencies.
There is a bit of a trick to driving a vehicle that is fitted with snow chains, though, and that is to go really easy on the gas pedal, to avoid spinning the wheels, if you can.
The snag is, if the wheels spin, the chains will scrub the snow away, and form a depression that tends to hold the wheel from moving forwards, so, with chains, the trick is to go easy, and let the wheels ride over the top surface of the snow.
